Patricia Dixon

As a freelance artist trading as Patricia Dixon Associates, she has considerable experience from a plethora of sectors these have included schools based arts education work, arts projects within a range of community settings, international participatory arts work, residencies and participatory work within commercial settings.
During self-employment she was involved in a wide range of arts based teaching and lecturing roles at schools, colleges and universities. As a long-term practising artist, Patricia has developed a rooted understanding of the arts and heritage infrastructure by working with a number of organisations.
Patricia first worked with Gallery 37 in Chicago, where the project was originally established, as an International Lead Artist for Birmingham. Following this she spent five years as Senior Art and Design lecturer at Newman University College in Birmingham, before joining Gallery 37 as Co-ordinator.
Since this time she has developed the programme and oversees arts based educational partnerships with many of the city’s leading arts organisations, and manages the Arts and Young People’s Team within Birmingham City Council and is CEO of the Gallery 37 Foundation.
