We are taking #HomelandsHeroes to this year’s Flatpack Film Festival showcasing our feature length documentary at MAC Birmingham following 4 UK artists: Saskilla, Terri Walker, Diztortion and Shakka to their Homelands.
As part of the 11th year of Flatpack Film Festival, Punch will be taking you on a 50,000 km journey to 4 parts of the world with 4 of the most exciting UK artists to explore the impact culture has on them as people and artists.
Travel to four parts of the world in 1 hour with acclaimed Grime MC Saskilla (Senegal); RnB Mercury prize nominee Terri Walker (Jamaica); GRM award winning producer Diztortion (Suriname); and RnB MOBO Award winning singer Shakka (Dominica).
How is our creativity shaped by our heritage? This is the question posed by documentary Homelands, an ambitious project from Punch Records which gave four talented UK musicians the opportunity to visit their countries of origin.
Following the screening of the feature length documentary there will be a special live performance from Saskilla and will be joined by directors Tara Manandhar and Jaha Browne for a post-screening Q&A hosted by Punch CEO Ammo Talwar.
