Shakespeare

In partnership we the Royal Shakespeare Company we delivered a number of workshops across the UK, focusing on the play Othello. Participants worked with our professional artists, specialists in performance poetry, MC and spoken word, to catapult the work of Shakespeare into a contemporary 21st century setting.

Participants spend the day working on the themes, plots and imagery of the play and then write their own interpretations of the story, using spoken word, poetry and music to deliver their versions in an end of day sharing.

The objective of this workshop is to make the work of Shakespeare accessible to all young people, to remove the barriers of language and get even more people engaging in the work of one of the most respected playwrights of all time.
